Franciscan Missions - OFM Conventual

                           
 
                                         

The Order of Friars Minor Conventual forms part of the Order founded by St. Francis of Assisi in the year 1209.  These Friars have continuously served at the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi and the Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua, Italy.  In the United States the Friars serve the Church in five Provinces.  This Blog will tell the story of the friars working in Missions throughout the World

The Franciscan Friars (Order of Friars Minoor Conventual) minister in over forty missions throughout the world:

In Asia: Turkey, Lebanon, Japan, Indoneia, Philipines, Korea, India, and Vietnam

In Africa: Burkino Faso, Tanzania, Kenya, Ghana, Zambia, Uganda, Angola, Malawi

In Central and South America: Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru, Brasil (Stato Federale, Sao Paolo, Maranhao, Rio De Janeiro), Chile, Mexico, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Honduras, Columbia, El Salvador, Cuba

In countries of the former Soviet Unioon (new foundationation or revival of old ones:  Russia (Moscow, Kalingrad, aand Kalmukia) , Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Romania, Moldavia, Belarus, Lithuania, Bulgaria, and continued presence in Croatia, Slovakia, and Poland
